Owner Ed von Tongelen of Von Tongelen Autosport
Since 1969 Ed von Tongelen has working in the car- and motorsport.
At first he worked as race mechanicien in the motorsport
(succesfully with 2 Dutch championships in the 500cc class and one in the
formule 750cc class).
In 1978 Ed switched as race mechanicien and driver to the historic and classic car racing, because he can't missing his passion for oldtimer races.

At first he worked as race mechanicien in the motorsport

In 1978 Ed switched as race mechanicien and driver to the historic and classic car racing, because he can't missing his passion for oldtimer races.
Together with a friend, he argued the youngtimerklasse within the HARC, so that they could participate with their DAF's at official races. After a year racing at the Youngtimerclass at Harc he searched his luck at Youngtimer Trophy in Germany. After Five years he stopped with racing.
Together with Jo Willems, he started in 1995 the Red Baron Classic Racing Team. In 2000 the Red Baron Classic Racing Team became a foundation and he is since that time member of the board.
In the season 1997 obtained Ed as mecanicien in the class tourcars group 2 till 1150cc a third in the championship.
In 1999 he organized togehter with two Garman friends a great international race car event.
In the same year obtained driver Jo Willems, with Ed as mecanicien, the first place in the championship at the Triumph Competition.
In 2001 Ed von Tongelen was the mechanicien from Sjaak Sint Nicolas, who won the championship at the Triumph Competition.

He workes as mechanicien on the jaguar MK 1 1958 of mister Haase, who was third in the Tour Auto 2009, a great rally event in Paris.
